To boost the morale of its cadres ahead of next year's assembly elections, President will visit on May 6, a party leader said here on Tuesday.

"To give a boost and to finalise the political strategy ahead of the 2018 assembly elections in Tripura, (BJP) President would be arriving here on May 6," the BJP's Pradesh 'Prabhari' (observer) Sunil Deodhar told the media.

He said that during his two-day visit, the chief may address some party meetings and speak to the party's state leaders and members in a brainstorming session.

"is the main target for the to capture power, although Meghalaya, where the Congress is in power, is also on the party's mind.

"We are of the view that the party could win riding on the organisational strength. That's why Amitji's visit holds significance for the state party unit," he said.

The elections for the 60-seat Assembly are likely to be held in February next year.
