Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo and Chief Minister today discussed steps to revive Hindustan Paper Corpration's mills in the state on a priority basis.

An official release here said Supriyo decided to adopt all pragmatic steps in line with the emotions, sentiments and requirements of the local people to revive the paper mills expeditiously.



The two leaders also decided to take a holistic approach for the revival of the eco-friendly industry to grow and help the rural and bamboo based economy in Assam, it said here.

Hindustan Paper Corporation has mills at Nagaon, Panchgram and the Ashok Ppaer Mill at Jogighopa in the state.

The Union Minister was here to attend the Namami Brahmaputra River Festival.
