A murder accused who had escaped from police custody last year was nabbed after a shootout with police near Pachenda road here.
SSP Bablu Kumar said the in-charge of the crime brach and a constable suffered bullet wounds during the encounter and have been hospitalised.
The man is accused of being involved in 28 cases of murder and loot and there was a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest, the SSP said.
He had escaped from police custody on December 12 last year.
