All central government offices in Delhi were shut on Tuesday on the occasion of Ram Navami. While Delhi unit offices of political parties buzzed with activity on account of the civic polls ahead in Delhi, their national offices were shut with one exception. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under its chief Amit Shah has learnt to be in election mode round the year and on Ram Navami it was no different. Officially shut for the holiday, party leaders still found time to hold a press conference and make an appearance at 11, Ashoka Road. Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar was roped in to address the media, while several other office-bearers marked their presence at the office before lunch and said they would then head off to visit temples.
