Four persons were killed and eight injured after a speeding truck hit a stationary tempo near them on Yamuna Expressway today, police said.

The tempo carrying 18 people Khurja to was stranded when one of its tyres got punctured near Jewar toll plaza, DSP of Jewar Dilip Singh said.



When those people were standing on the side of the road near the tempo as the driver was replacing the tyre, the speeding truck hit the vehicle. In the mishap, four persons died on the spot, the police officer said.

Eight people who were injured in the accident, were rushed to a nearby hospital, he said, adding the truck driver has been arrested.
