Yogi Adityanath-led first cabinet meet: Farm loans worth Rs 36,359 crore waived off

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held his first cabinet meet in Lucknow today. Yogi-led government gave big relief for farmers in the state. Here are the key highlights of UP government's first cabinet meet:

1) Farmers to get Rs 10 more than minimum support price per quintal. 40,000 lakh metric tonne of wheat to be bought in first tranche.

2) 5000 wheat buying centres to be set up, to be monitored by CM. Money will be directly transferred to farmers' banks accounts for wheat sale.

3) Anti-Romeo squads doing great work across the state. No harassment of consenting adult by the Anti-Romeo Squad.

4) UP government to ensure harassment-free transactions for farmers at purchase units.

5) Farmer loans worth Rs 36,359 crore waived off by UP government.

6) NPAs worth Rs 5,630 crore waived off by government.

7) A farmer may receive loan benefit of up to Rs 1 Lakh.

8) 2.15 crore farmers to directly get benefit of loan waiver plan.

9) Farmer loans worth Rs 30,729 crore waived off by Uttar Pradesh government for small and marginal farmers.

10) 26 illegal slaughterhouses have been closed so far.

11) Timeline for loan write-off starts in this new financial year.

12) New industrial policy to retain young talent in the state.
