Bajaj Auto is down nearly 1% at RS 2782, after having advanced to Rs 2832 at the start. Bajaj Auto reported an 11% decline in total sales in March 2017, at 2.72 units, compared to the same month last year. The company's domestic sales declined 17% in the month, while exports were up 1%.



Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.4% at Rs 1289) said its total tractor sales increased 32% in March 2017, over the same month last year. Total auto sales were up 6% in the month. While domestic tractor sales rose 29%, exports were up by a sharp 82% in March 2017. In the domestic market, Mahindra & Mahindra' auto sales were up 9% in the month, while auto exports in the month were down 28%.

Tata Motors reported an 8% increase in total passenger and commercial vehicles sales in the month of March 2017, over March 2016. Domestic sales of Tata Commercial & Passenger vehicles rose 10%. Sales of passenger vehicles were up 84%, spurred by strong demand for Tata Tiago. Commercial vehicles sales dropped 6% in the month. The company's exports declined 8% in March 2017. Shares of Tata Motors Limited are up 1% at Rs 471.

Maruti Suzuki is up 0.4% at Rs 6044. The carmaker said its total sales rose 8.1% in March 2017, over March 2016. Total domestic sales were up 7.7%, while exports increased 12.6% in the month.

Hero Motocorp, which advanced to Rs 3263.65, is currently at Rs 3223, slightly lower than its previous closing price. The two-wheeler has not reported its sales figures for March as yet.

Eicher Motors reported a 17% growth in sales volume in March 2017, over the same month last year. The company said that it sold 60,113 motorcycles last month as against 51,320 units sold in March 2016. The stock is down marginally at Rs 25,470.

SML Isuzu is trading 5% up after the company said that its total sales rose 26.4% to 2094 units in March 2017 over March 2016.
