Edtech startup Testbook raises funds from Matrix Partners

BENGALURU: Testbook, an education technology startup, has raised an undisclosed amount from venture capital firm Matrix Partners India.

The company will use the funds for geographic and product expansion. Testbook, founded by a team of IIT graduates, leverages technology to make preparation for government jobs tests more efficient, accessible and affordable.

It provides mock tests for SBI PO, SSC CGL, IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, LIC AAO, and Railways, among other aptitude preparation. Testbook’s content can be accessed through its website, mobile apps or offline test centres in some cities.

“We are a one-stop solution for students who take government jobs. The past three-four years, most of these exams have moved from offline to online. The online exam has become a hurdle for students who are from tier-II and tier-III cities.

It has been more than three years since we started. We are providing test prep for more than 30 exams which happen throughout the year,” said chief executive Ashutosh Kumar.
