Nifty above 9,200; SBI, ITC most active stocks in terms of value on NSE

NEW DELHI: As the Nifty50 was firmly perched above the crucial 9,200 level on Monday, RIL, SBI, and ITC, among others, were the most active stocks in terms of value on the National Stock Exchange.

Shares of RIL (Rs 959.04 crore), Larsen & Toubro (Rs 348.39 crore), SBI (Rs 177.83 crore), United Spirits (Rs 153.05 crore), Axis Bank (Rs 150.09 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 145.91 crore), HDFC (Rs 141.01 crore), Bharti Airtel (Rs 132.19 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 120.71 crore), ITC (Rs 117.42 crore), Infosys (Rs 100.83 crore), and Tata Steel (Rs 93.95 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE.

The NSE Nifty was up 38.80 points at 9,212.55 around 12.10 pm (IST) on Monday. In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Airtel (down 3.61 per cent), Wipro (down 1.67 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 1.52 per cent), HCL Tech (down 1.47 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 1.43 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.39 per cent), BPCL (down 1.32 per cent), Infosys (down 1.32 per cent), Indian Oil Corp (down 1.05 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.98 per cent), Tata Power (down 0.77 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.76 per cent) were among the top losers.

On the other hand, RIL (up 3.87 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 3.81 per cent), GAIL (up 2.27 per cent), Axis Bank (up 2.18 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.90 per cent), HDFC (up 1.55 per cent), ACC (up 1.52 per cent), Ambuja Cement (up 1.48 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.46 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.34 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.87 per cent) and HUL (up 0.80 per cent) were trading in the green.

Most active stocks in terms of value help investors identify stocks with the highest trading turnover during the day.

Advani Hotels, Delta Corp, Emami Infra, RattanIndia Infra, Murudeshwar Cera, Shakti Pumps, Vardhman Special, AksharChem Ltd, Oriental Carbon, Windsor Machine, Ginni Filaments, and Mahindra CIE Auto touched their fresh 52-week high.

On the other hand, VKS Projects, Shekhawati Poly, Indoco Remedies, Green Fire Agri, Energy Development Company, Noida Toll Bridge, FCS Software, Rasoya Proteins, Sharon Bio-Med, Ind-Swift Labs, ANG Industries, and Unity Infraprojects hit their new 52-week low levels during the day.
