New Delhi: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Chenani-Nashri tunnel in Kashmir, Pakistan resorted to indiscriminate shelling and firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir’s Poonch district, on Monday at 9:15am, senior army officials said.
“The Pakistan army resorted to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at the Indian Army posts along the LoC on Monday morning. However, the Indian side responded effectively to them and there was heavy exchange of fire between both sides,” said a senior army official of the Northern Command, requesting anonymity.
Later in the day, a group of militants opened fire at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in the outskirts of Srinagar, injuring four CRPF personnel.
