Music across the world moves in cycles: Nikhil Chinapa

IANS  |  New Delhi

Popular DJ, VJ and television host Nikhil Chanapa says music genres across the world move in phases.

"Not just in India, but music across the world moves in cycles. So what is cooler in a certain time of the century will come back maybe in a different shape or form. But that kind of essence, vibe or rhythm tends to come back," Nikhil told IANS here.

The 43-year-old, who has been the curator of the music festival Supersonic fest, is currently seen as a gang leader on "Roadies Rising". He says the reason music moves in cycles is because of the internet.

"Music moves in cycles but thanks to the internet, the cycles have become faster because things become cool a lot faster as the internet makes it possible and people lose interest faster as well because your attention span has become shorter," added Nikhil, who joined MTV in 1997.
