Kashmiris have to choose between tourism and terrorism: PM Narendra Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today exhorted the youth of Kashmir to leave the path of terrorism.
"For 40 years, many lost their lives. Nobody benefited. The only people who got bloodied is my beloved Kashmiris. Mothers lost their sons. This game of blood is not doing good for anyone even after 40 years," the Prime Minister said, while addressing a rally in Udhampur after the inauguration of Chenani-Nashri all-weather road tunnel.

Had tourism been promoted all these 40 years, the story would have been different, PM added.
PM said while some misguided youth are pelting stones, others are cutting stones to make the tunnel and contribute to the nation.
Modi said: "Youth of Kashmir have a choice to select one of the two paths- one of tourism the other of terrorism."
Earlier today, PM Modi inaugurated the 10.89 km long Chenani-Nashri all-weather road tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The road tunnel will reduce the travel time between the two state capitals of Jammu and Srinagar by approximately two hours.

Modi said the tunnel will also help preserve the ecology of J&K.
"Even the ecologist will praise this tunnel as it will save Himalayas," Modi said.
The PM also added that nine such tunnels are also in the pipeline.
