Excise Minister Zenith Sangma today said the state will amend the existing excise rules in line with the Supreme order.

"There is a need to amend the excise rules in line with the latest Supreme order which exempted and due to the unique topography," Zenith told reporters.



"We will do it as soon as possible in consultation with the department and the government," he said.

On Friday, the Supreme had exempted and from the 500-metre cap on vends alongside highways.
