A truck driver was charred on Saturday morning after his truck caught fire following an accident here, police said.
They said the driver, identified as Iqbal, was a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan. He was going from Naraina to Dhaula Kuan in west Delhi at around 3:40 a.m. when the incident took place.
"A passerby informed the police that a truck, which had turned turtle after colliding with a U-Turn divider in Subroto Park area, had caught fire," Deputy Commissioner of Police Surender Kumar said.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
"On inspection of the truck, a dead body was found from the driving seat in charred condition. It was later identified as that of Iqbal," Kumar said.
