The state-owned NLC India (Neyveli Lignite Corporation) has recorded a 17.8 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 852.35 crore for the first three quarters to December 2016.
The Tamil Nadu-based company had registered a net profit of Rs 723.82 crore during in the year ago period, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
Total income in April-December 2016 stood at Rs 6,088 crore as against Rs 5,235 crore in the previous year, registering a growth of 16.28 per cent.
Sales turnover stood at Rs 5,830 crore in the first nine months as against Rs 4,820 crore a year earlier.
On production of lignite for the quarter ended September 30, 2016, the company said it rose to 69.27 LT (lakh tonne), from 60.21 LT during the corresponding quarter of the last year.
