Digital product building competition - Smart India Hackathon 2017 - co-organised by AICTE, Ministry of Human Resources Development, MyGov, NIC and Nasscom was kicked off at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology in Coimbatore today.
SKCET is the nodal centre in Coimbatore and is among the two centres in Tamil Nadu, the other being at Chennai for this 36-hour non-stop digital programming competition.
About 26 nodal centres have been identified all over the country, each representing a ministry of the Government of India and this centre in Coimbatore is represented by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.
Close to 2000 teams had submitted their proposals in Tamil Nadu, of which 263 were short-listed for the Grand Finale.
At SKCET, 325 students representing 54 teams across India are participating in the competition.
