Unidentified assailants today shot dead the principal of a school at Kamlakund village of Bihar's Bhagalpur district, police said.
Shambhu Mandal, principal of a government-run secondary school, died on the spot when assailants fired at him while he was entering the school.
Police suspected that the killing might be an outcome of personal enemity.
The locals blocked road and staged protest.
The District Primary Schools Teachers Association has sought arrest of killers within 24 hours failing which they would stop teaching work.
