KERC may okay power tariff hike

The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) is all set approve increase in power tariff by the end of next week. Electricity supply companies had sent their proposals for a tariff hike.

According sources, Bescom has proposed to the KERC to increase both domestic and commercial power tariffs by Rs 1.50 per unit. KERC chairman M K Shankarlinge Gowda has said that decision will be taken by next week.
