New Delhi, March 31:
The government has set its eyes on increasing earnings from the export of services such as tourism, medical value travel, and travel on account of business. The aim is to make India an attractive destination for foreign direct and portfolio investment.
A government statement said: “With effect from April 1, e-Visa has further been sub-divided into 3 categories — e-tourist visa, e-Business visa and e-Medical visa.’
The facility has been extended to nationals of 161 countries for entry through 24 airports and 3 Indian Ports (Cochin, Goa and Mangalore) to tap the potential of cruise tourism from different countries. This service was earlier granted through 16 airports.
