Chennai: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam faction led by O Panneerselvam inaugurated the R K Nagar party office and released its manifesto for the upcoming polls.

The 38-point manifesto released by the AIADMK-Amma has many promises like making Kodungaiyur Ezhil Nagar dumpyard a litter-free modernised zone and establishing a world-class fish market besides assuring to resolve issues related to basic amenities and better transportation and medical facilities.

The by-poll to R K Nagar assembly constituency will be held on April 12. Votes will be counted on April 15.

The R K Nagar assembly constituency fell vacant after the death of J Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar while launching her own political front MGR Amma Deepa Peravai announced that she would contest the elections from the RK Nagar seat.

The by-election to Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency will also be conducted on the same day.
