The bodies of three youths, who had drowned in Beas three days ago, were today fished out from the river in a joint-operation by the and Armed Police.

Arwinder Singh alias Raman, Surinder Singh and Karam Singh, all residents of Hoshiarpur district, had drowned when they were bathing in the river near Ballan village on Sunday.



The divers from the Army and PAP had started the rescue operation at Beas river at nearby Sri Hargobindpur area yesterday.

The team also used motor boats and JCB machines as they suspected that the bodies could be buried under the trees which fell in the river, police said.

The bodies were spotted near the same area where the youths were bathing, and were buried under the fallen trees, they said.
