Market in the green; Axis Bank, Tata Motors among top Nifty gainers

NEW DELHI: Shares of Axis Bank (up 2.48 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.10 per cent), Zee Ent. (up 1.96 per cent), HDFC (up 1.90 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.90 per cent) , HCL Tech (up 1.67 per cent) , ACC (up 1.55 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharm (up 1.27 per cent) , Sun Pharma (up 1.27 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index in the afternoon trade on Tuesday around 1.15 pm (IST).

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra (down 2.68 per cent), ONGC (down 0.87 per cent), Grasim Industries (down 0.52 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.51 per cent), Tata Power (down 0.46 per cent), ITC (down 0.41 per cent), GAIL (down 0.40 per cent) and RIL (down 0.27 per cent) were among the top losers in the Nifty index.

The 50-share NSE Nifty index was trading 53.80 points up at 9,099.00, while the 30-share Sensex was up 163.91 points at 29,401.06.

In the Nifty50 pack, 42 stocks were trading in the green, while nine were in the red.
