Nifty above 9,050; SBI, Idea Cellular among most active stocks in terms of volume
NEW DELHI: Shares of State Bank of India (number of shares traded: 1.41 crore), Idea Cellular (1.25 crore), ICICI Bank (0.68 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.65 crore), Hindalco Industries. (0.61 crore) , ONGC (0.59 crore) , PNB (0.57 crore) , Vedanta Ltd (0.53 crore) , Axis Bank (0.52 crore) and Tech Mahindra (0.44 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange till 1 pm (IST).
The NSE Nifty index was up 55.1 points at 9,100.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 167.56 points at 29,404.71 around the same time.
In the Nifty index, Axis Bank (up 2.16 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.96 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.92 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 1.91 per cent), HDFC (up 1.89 per cent), HCL Tech (up 1.74 per cent), ACC (up 1.46 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 1.37 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.34 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 1.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra was down 2.69 per cent, followed by ONGC (down 0.79 per cent), GAIL (down 0.52 per cent), Tata Power (down 0.52 per cent), ITC (down 0.34 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.33 per cent), Grasim Industries (down 0.32 per cent), BPCL (down 0.24 per cent) and RIL (down 0.18 per cent).
