Bhopal: Just a day after an explosion took place in ordnance factory in Itarsi, a series of explosions have triggered a massive fire at Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK), located around 370 km from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Emergency services have been rushed to the site and rescue efforts are underway. At least 20 people were injured and as many as 50 fire tenders have rushed to the spot where people are feared trapped.

According to District Collector Mahesh Choudhary, who spoke to PTI over the phone, "Smoke is billowing from a section of OFK. Explosions are still taking place."

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Unfortunately, most of the workers were injured during their bid to escape the factory. All injured personnel have been admitted to the Khamaria Army Hospital.

The blast occurred in the F-3 section where 125mm anti-tank grenades are manufactured. According to sources, the accident occurred when soft anti-tank explosives were being shifted at the factory.
