Telangana requests President Pranab Mukherjee to launch startup incubator T-Works

HYDERABAD: Telangana Government today said it is requesting President Pranab Mukherjee to launch T-Works, a startup incubator for hardware industry.

"T-Works on the lines of T-Hub for Hardware, a large setup will come up in Osmania University and we are requesting the President Pranab Mukherjee to launch it during the Centenary Celebrations of the University next month," Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of IT said.

T-Works will act as a prototyping centre for electronics, semiconductors and hardware start-ups. It will be a very large setup, he added.

Ranjan inaugurated the National Conference on 'Inno Vision in Packaging' organised by Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP).

"IIP is requesting Telangana state government to allocate 5 acres land to expand their local operations," said N C Saha, Director of IIP.

He also said that the Indian packaging market is expected to reach USD 32 billion by 2020.

Saha said the Centre has mandated the IIP to develop packaging standards for 500 export oriented commodities including tea, coffee, spices, flowers and fruits among others.
