Bengaluru, March 22:
Former Chief Minister S M Krishna formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Wedneday. He was formally admitted to the party by BJP national president Amit Shah.
Krishna, who severed his nearly fifty-year links with Congress on January 28 had served the Congress party in various capacities before becoming Union External Affairs Minister during UPA II rule.
Union ministers Ananth Kumar and Sadananda Gowda, BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao who is party's in-charge of Karnataka and senior BJP state leader R Ashok welcomed Krishna to the party.
