Auto major Honda Cars India today said its latest product 'WR-V' was a global model and would be manufactured in South America to serve the Brazilian market. "HCIL (Honda Cars India Ltd) is focusing on the domestic Indian market for WR-V sales as of now. WR-V is a global model and it will be manufactured locally in South America for the Brazilian market", a company statement said.
Referring to reports of relaunch of its premium sedan Civic in India, the company said it was reviewing the customer requirements and had not taken any decision. "We realise that Civic is a much loved brand in India and lot of people are interested in that car. We are constantly monitoring and reviewing the customer requirements and aspirations in the segment", it said.
"If we see an opportunity for Civic, we would like to re-introduce it. However, we have not taken any decision about it", the statement added.
Honda had launched WR-V here yesterday, pricing it Rs 7.90 lakh for base model petrol variant and Rs 10.15 lakh for its top end diesel version (ex-showroom Chennai).
