West Bengal government to set up leopard and bear safari near Siliguri

KOLKATA: After tiger safari, West Bengal government has taken initiatives to set up leopard and bear safari near Siliguri. The two separate safari parks will be constructed on 20 hectare of land each.

The tiger safari park has already been inaugurated by the chief minister. The forest department has been closely working with the tourism department to develop the leopard park and a bear park in Siliguri.

The Bengal Safari Park is already a popular tourist destination and tiger safaris are a huge hit among the masses. Other animals, fresh water crocodile and gharial and representative birds of North Bengal are also displayed in large enclosures in the park here.
