Hi there! Good Evening

This is Abhinav Kaul from ETMarkets.com and I will take you through the facts and figures from Monday's session on Dalal Street and will bring you cues and trading tips from market veterans for tomorrow's trade.

After days of frenetic buying, the investors on Dalal Street were seen booking profit on Monday. The NSE benchmark Nifty50 witnessed relentless selling as the index closed the day at 9,126.80, down 33.20 points, or 0.36 per cent. This was just a few points above its five-Day moving average of 9,122.

Meanwhile, the BSE barometer Sensex shed 130 points, or 0.44 per cent, at 29,518.

So, what moved the market today? We have G Chokkalingam, Founder, Equinomics Research & Advisory with us sharing his views on the fundamental side of the market.

Some experts believe that Monday’s correction may extend in days to come, as certain momentum oscillator, with higher accuracy are generating a ‘sell’ signal simultaneously on the lower time frame charts.

For Nifty50, multiple technical supports are available at around 9,020, experts said, adding that there is a compelling case to buy on dips for the next target of 9,350.

To give us a perspective on what the technical charts are signalling, we have Vaishali Parekh of Prabhudas Lilladher.

On the options front, maximum Put OI is at 8800 followed by 8900 strike, while maximum Call OI is at 9200 followed by 9300 strike. We have seen fresh Put writing at 9000 and 9100 strike which is holding the support. While fresh Call writing at 9100 and 9200 strikes are restricting its upside momentum.

So, what does this derivatives setup signal right now? Nitin Murarka of Global Securities explains.
