BJP wins Manipur floor test, gets support of 33 MLAs
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today won the floor test in the Manipur assembly.
The Nongthombam Biren Singh-led government got support of 33 MLAs.
Assembly polls in Manipur had delivered a fractured mandate with Congress emerging as the single largest party with 28 MLAs while BJP got 21 seats.
However, BJP mustered support of four MLAs each of the National People's Party and Naga People's Front and one MLA from Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party to secure a majority in the 60 member Assembly.
