Nifty falls 33 points: Shares of Idea, PFC, ITC, ICICI Bank soar in volume
NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market was in red for the first time in three sessions on Monday with shares of Idea Cellular, PFC, ITC, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, SBI, and Coal India surging in volume.
Shares of Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 16.37 crore), PFC (1.01 crore) , ITC (0.91 crore) , ICICI Bank (0.68 crore) , Vedanta Ltd (0.57 crore) , SBI (0.52 crore) , Coal India Ltd (0.43 crore) , Hindalco Inds. (0.42 crore) , PowerGrid (0.36 crore) , Ashok Leyland (0.33 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Monday ’s session.
In the Nifty index, Tata Power (up 1.68 per cent) , Grasim Inds. (up 1.64 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharm (up 1.12 per cent) , Bharti Infratel (up 0.92 per cent) , NTPC (up 0.81 per cent) , Coal India Ltd (up 0.78 per cent) , BPCL (up 0.76 per cent) , HDFC Bank (up 0.70 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.67 per cent) , Kotak Bank (up 0.65 per cent) stood among top gainers.
While Idea Cellular (down -7.31 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down -2.25 per cent) , Infosys (down -2.03 per cent) , Axis Bank (down -1.72 per cent) , TCS (down -1.66 per cent) , Hindalco Inds. (down -1.40 per cent) , Tata Steel (down -1.38 per cent) , Wipro (down -0.97 per cent) , Larsen & Toubro (down -0.94 per cent) , RIL (down -0.84 per cent) remained top losers of the day.
