2 unidentified bodies found in Kengeri, police see a pattern

Two unidentified bodies have been found in as many locations in Kengeri, west Bengaluru. While one body was found in a stormwater drain, another was spotted on a vacant land.

Passersby found the first body — highly decomposed and floating in a drain on Channasandra-Srinivasapura road on Thursday evening and called the police. Though there are no injuries on the body, police suspect it to be a case of murder or drowning. They are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.

The other body was stuffed in a rexine sofa cover and dumped on a vacant land in Visvesvaraya Layout on Saturday morning. There is a grievous injury on the back of the head. Police suspect that the victim was murdered two days ago. Both the cases have been registered at the Kengeri police station and efforts are on to identity the victims.

Police say at least three bodies have been found in the last three days in a similar manner. “There are several dense and desolate areas in Kengeri where there is little movement of people or vehicles. A number of stormwater drains are covered by weeds and bushes, which makes them less visible to passersby. Criminals are choosing such places to dump bodies,” a senior police officer said.
