Commenting on the Assembly Disciplinary Committee giving notice to seven MLAs to reply over the recent incidents of unruly behavior exhibited in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, the state Congress has asserted that no action can be taken on the issue as the Speaker was not present in the Assembly during the ruckus.
Speaking to ANI here, senior Tamil Nadu Congress leader S.M. Hidayatullah said, "Because of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) internal problems, some unavoidable things happened inside the Assembly, but it happened after the Speaker left the assembly. So there is no possibility of proceedings."
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) member said that the speaker himself told he won't take any action on the issue as he was not present inside the assembly during the ruckus.
"Law will take its own course, we will wait, let's see what will happen," he added.
On the other hand, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson Saravanan asserted that it is just a diversionary tactic.
"We all know what happened inside the Tamil Nadu assembly. The allegations have been made on selective leakage of Tamil Nadu videos. The entire unedited video should be made available to the court and also to the DMK petitioners," Saravanan told ANI.
The notice will be trashed just on the basis of unedited video footage, he added.
Tamil Nadu government led by E.K. Palaniswami won the trust vote by a 122-11 margin after the eviction of DMK members and walkout by its allies, amid stormy scenes during which mikes were uprooted, chairs toppled and sheets of papers torn and hurled around.
