NTPC clocks highest ever annual power generation at 263.95 BU
NEW DELHI: State-run power giant NTPC has recorded highest ever annual cumulative gross power generation of 263.95 BU (billion unit) so far this fiscal surpassing the 262.42 BU achieved in the entire 2015-16.
The power producer has registered an annual growth of 4.71 per cent over last year, an official said.
NTPC pit head coal stations, having capacity of 25,840 MW, recorded day plant load factor (PFL) or capacity utilisation of 95.71 per cent on March 16, 2017 and cumulative monthly PLF of 91.4 per cent till date.
As many as 29 units of NTPC coal plants have generated a PLF of more than 100 per cent on March 16, 2017.
NTPC stations' performance in the current month was excellent this month also with Vindhyachal station -- India's largest power station having a capacity of 4,760 MW -- achieving highest ever day generation of 114.254 MU at PLF 100 per cent on March 8.
Its Mouda station also recorded highest-ever day generation of 31.2 MU on 9th of this month and solar generation of NTPC touched maximum generation of 2.353 MU on March 12.

NTPC's first coal mine Pakri-Barwadih at Hazaribagh became operational in December last year and first wind power project of NTPC-Rojmal wind energy project is being set up in Gujarat.
NTPC inaugurated indigenously developed 100 kWp floating solar PV plant -- the largest in India -- in Kerala recently.
