Maharashtra's debt is estimated to be over Rs 3.56 lakh crore in 2016-17, according to the Economic Survey presented to the state legislature today.

The survey said deficit is expected to be Rs 3,645 crore, while fiscal deficit is estimated at Rs 35,031 crore in the current financial year.



The total expected debt stock is Rs 3,56,213 crore.

The percentage of fiscal deficit to Gross State Domestic Product is likely to be 1.5 and debt stock to GSDP at 15.7 in FY17 which is well within the limits stipulated by the 14th Commission, the survey said.

Per capita in the state was Rs 1,47,399 in 2015 -16 as against Rs 1,32,341 in 2014-15, showing an increase of 11.4 per cent, it added.
