Sensex zooms 150 points: Idea, Vedanta, SBI, Hindalco shares soar in volume
NEW DELHI: The domestic market were in a buoyant mood on Thursday with Sensex rising around 150 points and Nifty hitting a fresh 52-week high.
Shares of Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 2.62 crore), Hindalco Industries (1.02 crore), Vedanta (0.95 crore), SAIL (0.78 crore), State Bank of India (0.75 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.56 crore) , Ashok Leyland (0.54 crore) , Tata Steel (0.51 crore) , ICICI Bank (0.50 crore) , Adani Ports SEZ (0.40 crore) stood among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday ’s session till 12.40 pm (IST).
The NSE Nifty index was trading 48.2 points up at 9133.0 , while BSE Sensex was up 125.06 points at 29523.17 around the same time on Thursday.
In the Nifty index, Adani Ports SEZ (up 3.85 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 3.03 per cent) , Hindalco Inds. (up 2.88 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 2.18 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharm (up 2.08 per cent) , Asian Paints (up 1.85 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 1.45 per cent) , NTPC (up 1.39 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 1.26 per cent) , BHEL (up 1.20 per cent) were among top gainers, while Hero MotoCorp (down -1.36 per cent) , Bharti Airtel (down -0.84 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down -0.44 per cent) , RIL (down -0.41 per cent) and Zee Ent. (down -0.29 per cent) were trading in red.
