Reliance Capital advances over 4% ahead of analysts meet

NEW DELHI: Shares of Reliance Capital advanced as much as 4.24 per cent in early trade on Thursday ahead of chairman Anil Ambani's meeting with analysts to brief business plans later in the day.

The scrip was trading 3.97 per cent up at Rs 578.50 around 9.30 am (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 561.80 and touched a high and low of Rs 581 and Rs 561.80, respectively, in trade.

The proposed interaction follows a similar analyst meet held by Reliance Infrastructure in February wherein Ambani had addressed the analysts about the group's future business plans in the defence sector.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, Reliance Capital said that analysts meet will be held on Thursday to give update on the company and its businesses.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2016, the company reported a net sales of Rs 3896 crore, up 71.48 per cent, against Rs 2272 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net profit of the company dipped 11 per cent year-on-year to Rs 209 crore for the quarter under review.
