The government will launch the third tranche of the CPSE exchange-traded fund, managed by Reliance MF, today. The offer opens today for anchor investors and for all other investors between March 15 and March 17. The government hopes to mop up about Rs 2,500 crore from this round. The government had raised Rs 6,000 crore through the second tranche of CPSE ETF in January and Rs 3,000 crore from the first tranche in March 2014.

BJP's Manohar Parrikar will be sworn in as chief minister of Goa. Goa Governor Mridula Sinha has invited Parrikar to form the next government in the coastal state after he submitted a letter of support from 21 legislators.

The budget session of Mizoram Assembly begins today. Mizoram's Finance minister Lalsawta will present the state's annual budget on March 16. The budget session will come to a close on March 30. The session, which will go on till March 30, will see the tabling of four important State bills, including the setting up of a Lokayukta.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington today. Their first meeting comes after a rocky start to relations amid disagreements about trade and Trump’s travel ban. The meeting between Trump and Merkel is likely to cover a wide range of issues, including the global economy, trade, the fight against Islamic State, NATO and ties with Russia and China.

SpaceX plans to launch the Falcon 9 rocket today from NASA's historic moonshot pad, the Kennedy Space Center. The rocket will carry the EchoStar 23 communications satellite. In February, a SpaceX Falcon rocket blasted off from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A carrying supplies to the ISS.
