This is Abhinav Kaul from ETMarkets.com taking you through the motions from Tuesday's session on Dalal Street and bringing you cues and trading tips from market veterans for Wednesday's session.

NSE benchmark Nifty50 closed above the 9,000 mark for the first time ever after the BJP registered a landslide victory in UP and Uttarakhand assembly elections. Nifty Bank index also closed at record levels.

Investor wealth climbed by more than Rs 1.50 lakh crore on BSE as the benchmark BSE Sensex advanced 496.40 points, or 1.71 per cent to 29,442. Total investor wealth, measured in terms of market capitalisaion of all listed stocks, climbed to Rs 118.86 lakh crore on March 14 from Rs 117.32 lakh crore in the previous trading session.

So, what moved the market today? We have Pankaj Pandey, head of research at ICICIdirect.com, giving us a lowdown.

On the option front, maximum Put OI is at 8900 followed by 8800 while maximum Call OI is at 9200 followed by 9100 strike. We have seen significant Put writing at 9100 and 9000 strike which is shifting the support on higher side while unwinding in 9000 call and fresh writing at 9200 is giving the scope to higher zone.
