Goa RSS leader Subhash Velingkar raps Manohar Parrikar for forming a 'minority government'

MUMBAI: In remarks that are going to put the BJP in a tight spot, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Subhash Velingkar has described Manohar Parrikar's 'forming a minority government as immoral’ and has claimed that the BJP in Goa had ‘manipulated the EVM machines’.

“The BJP is not the single largest party. It got 13 seats. The people have rejected it. Yet the party is now forming the government by taking the help of another 60% (MGP, NCP and other independents) that were not part of their coalition, were opposed to the ideology and had actually contested against the BJP. This is immoral,” said Velingkar.

Faulting the role of Governor Mridula Sinha, the former Goa RSS chief said, “It is unparalleled. It has never happened in the history of Goa — that a minority is forming the government. The governor has suspiciously hurried in giving them (BJP) the sanction to form the government.”

Questioning the urgency in Goa government formation, Velingkar said, “In Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, no chief minister has been announced and no government has been sworn in. So why the haste in Goa." Velingkar was scathing in his remarks against Parrikar. “It’s not good that Parrikar, who was a defence minister, is stooping to this level,” he said.

In what would further embarrass the BJP, he said that the BJP manipulated EVM machines in Goa. “We are consulting our legal experts and we are going to soon file a case in this regard.” The latter had floated the Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) before the Goa polls. However, it could not open its account. Velingkar, who quit the RSS to float the GSM, has now joined the RSS.
