A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scored a massive victory in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Samajwadi Party (SP) patron Mulayam Singh Yadav asserted that the saffron party has made many promises and it is time to see if they will fulfill them or not.
"The BJP has made many poll promises, let's see if they fulfill them or not," Mulayam told reporters on Sunday.
Commenting on his party's rout, the SP leader said, "Nobody is responsible for this defeat. There is no reason behind our defeat. This is the verdict of the people. We failed to convince voters."
Earlier in the day, SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said the party will analyse the reason for its defeat. "All reasons responsible for the party's defeat will be thoroughly analysed. The party leaders will meet and do the analysis,"Shivpal said.
Out of 403 Assembly seats in UP, the BJP won 312, SP-Congress alliance won 54 and BSP managed to win only 19.
