A 25-year-old youth was crushed to death and three other persons were injured when a speeding DTC bus rammed into a footpath florist shop here on Sunday, police said.

Police said the incident took place at around 9.50 a.m. when the speeding bus, plying on the Nangloi-Lajpat Nagar route, hit the shop on the footpath at West Avenue road in Nangloi area of west Delhi.

"The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where one was pronounced dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said.

The injured, identified as Mithun, 33, resident of Paschim Puri, Shankar, 30, Rakesh Kumar, 26, and Raja, 25, from Bihar were taken to a nearby hospital where Raja was declared dead, the officer said.

Police were informed of the accident by the bus conductor and driver Sandeep Kumar, 40, was arrested from the spot, he said, adding that there were 25 passengers in the bus when the accident took place.
