UP Election Results 2017: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with its allies, is projected to win over 300 seats out of 403 in the state, an unprecedented feat in its electoral history. In 1991, when it achieved its biggest victory, it had won 221 seats in the state. The victory for Narendra Modi's BJP in Uttar Pradesh, which is home to 220 million people, boosts his chances of winning the 2019 general elections and underscores his popularity after he made himself the face of the party's campaign in the state.
Punjab Election Results 2017: The Congress is headed for a two-third majority in the 117-seat Punjab Assembly, with veteran Amarinder Singh set to return as chief minister of the border state. The Congress, which had been out of power in Punjab for a decade, has won 57 seats and was leading on 20 others, paving the way for the next Congress government in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which claimed it could win up to 100 seats, got only 18 and was leading on another three. Its ally, Lok Insaf Party, won two seats. The saving grace for the AAP is that it will be the main Opposition in the new Assembly.
Uttarakhand Election Results 2017: The BJP is set to storm back to power in the hill state of Uttarakhand with a two-thirds majority in the 70-member Assembly. On top of a sweeping win in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has won 14 seats in the state and was leading in 44 others, puncturing the ruling Congress. The Congress suffered a rout, with Chief Minister Harish Rawat losing from both the seats he contested: Haridwar Rural and Kichcha.
Goa Election Results 2017: Goa is headed for a close fight between the BJP and the Congress as of 4.00 pm. Till then, Congress had won 14 seats and was leading in 2, while BJP had won 12 seats and was leading in one. The AAP failed to even open its account in the state. For the 40 Assembly seats, the BJP had fielded candidates in 36, the AAP in 39, the Congress in 37, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party in 25 and the NCP also in 37 seats.
Manipur Election Results 2017: Manipur is headed for a hung Assembly with the ruling Congress and the BJP locked in a neck and neck fight to emerge as the single largest party, overall trends in the vote count revealed. Of the 21 results in the 60-seat Assembly declared so far, the Congress has won eight, and the BJP seven seats. The National People's Party and the Lok Janshakti Party bagged one seat each.
