Uttar Pradesh election results: UP ke Ladke's cycle loses race against marathoner Modi
BJP has already crossed the majority mark in Uttar Pradesh and moving closer to an absolute 2/3rd majority in the state Assembly after over two decades.
The elections were widely seen as a virtual referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation decision and was a test for Akhilesh Yadav, who recently took charge as the national president of the Samajwadi Party.
Here is a tally of all 403 seats in the state assembly: BJP+ leading on 306 seats, SP-Congress 72 seats, BSP 17 and Others leading on 8 till now.

►In Sahibabad, Sunil Sharma was leading by over 2,000 votes over Congress-SP alliance's Amar Pal Sharma. In Muradnagar, BJP's Ajit Pal Tyagi leading with 2,500 votes over Congress-SP's Surendra Prakash Goel.
►In Ghaziabad city, Atul Garg leading with 8,000 votes over BSP's Suresh Bansal. In Modinagar, Manju Sivach leading with 3,000 votes over BSP's Wahab Chaudhary.
► Independent candidate Aman Mani Tripathi is ahead of his nearest rival SP's Kunwar Kaushal Kishore Singh alias Munna Singh by over 12,000 votes in Nautanwa seat.
►BJP's lead increases to 8,000 at Rohania in Varanasi.
►BJP candidate takes lead of over 9,000 votes at Pindra in Varanasi.
►BJP leading in Ramnagar (Barabanki) and Ayodhya seats.
►Ministers Arvind Singh Gope and Tej Narain alias Pawan Pandey trailing.
►Siddhartha Nath Singh of BJP leads by 11,072 votes in Allahabad west.
►BJP's firebrand leader Suresh Rana trailing BSP's Abdul Waris Khan in Thana Bhawan seat in Shamli by over 5000 votes.
