Manipur election results 2017: Congress marginally ahead of BJP

The Congress party's 15-year rule in the north-eastern state of Manipur seems to be in peril, as exit polls forecast the BJP will likely win the maximum number of seats in the 60-strong Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

• Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh wins Thoubal Assembly constituency by over 8,000 votes.

• Sapam Ranjan Singh of BJP wins from Konthoujam seat over his Congress rival Konthoujam Sharat Singh by a margin of 2,772 votes.
