Kolkata: A court in Kolkata on Friday issued an arrest warrant for Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of Parliament (MP) Babool Supriyo after the police submitted a charge sheet against him for allegedly insulting Mahua Moitra, a Trinamool Congress legislator, in a television show in early January.

Moitra lodged a complaint saying that the BJP MP from West Bengal had made an indecent gesture at her by asking on a live show if she was inebriated.

The police have started a case against Supriyo under a bailable section.

The court on Friday issued a warrant to arrest him and produce him before it. ARKAMOY DUTTA MAJUMDAR
