Air India flight from Mumbai delayed by over 6 hours; passengers held up inside aerobridge

NEW DELHI: Passengers on an Air India flight from Mumbai to Delhi had to go through an ordeal on Friday, as the flight got delayed by over six hours due to a technical issue with the aircraft.

The flight (AI 624) was scheduled to depart at 1600 hours but developed a snag forcing passengers to return to the terminal.

However, passengers were held up at the aerobridge for a couple of hours, as Mumbai airport does not have an arrangement for domestic transit passengers.

"The passengers were then shifted to a different aircraft. But the flight delayed further after four passengers demanded to be offloaded," said an air India official, who did not want to be identified.

The flight finally departed at 2145 hours.
