The final verdict in the case of violence at the Maruti Suzuki plant in 2012 is expected today. The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 near the plant from March 10 to 15. An HR manager was burnt to death and several executives injured in violence in the car plant allegedly triggered by workers on July 18, 2012.

Finance minister Arun Jaitley is to chair a high-level meeting with RBI officials today to address the issue of non-performing assets in the banking sector. The meeting will discuss ways of resolution of stressed assets.

An upgraded version of the BrahMos cruise missile, with an extended range, will be tested today by the DRDO. This version, aiming to reach 450 km, is an improvement over the current range of 290 km. The technology upgrade comes after India’s full membership to the Missile Technology Control Regime, which removed caps on range of BrahMos.

The Budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly will start from today. The newly created State’s Budget for fiscal 2017-2018 will be presented on March 13.

The much-anticipated LG G6 smartphone is expected to be launched in South Korea today, according to LG’s mobile chief, Cho Juno. The dates for the flagship phone’s launch in other markets are not confirmed yet.
