Three members of a family were today killed while two others injured when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck near Pandey Patti village here, police said.
The family was headed to their home in Dhamdaha when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction at Supaul-Araria state highway in the district, Jadia police station SHO Dhananjay Keshri said.
"The incident took place when the family was returning home after attending a function. Three of the car occupants died on the spot while two others were seriously hurt," the officer said.
"The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital while the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem," he said.
No arrests have been made so far since the truck driver managed to escape, Keshri said, adding investigation is underway.
