Three persons of a family who were returning after taking darshan of Shrishailam were killed and 18 others were injured in a collision between a transport bus and a jeep today, the police said.

The accident occurred on Chintala ghat road in Prakasam district, when the bus, headed to Srishailam, collided with the vehicle, said the Markapur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sriharibabu.



The deceased are identified as R. Vijayakumar (37), R. Sridevi (60), and Nagamma (50), all hailing from Gulbarga in Karnataka.

The injured were shifted to Dornala hospital for treatment, he said.
